I can't even describe how blustery and snowy it is right now. I love snow, but it's SO cold and windy (and has been for days) that the husband and I are starting to go stir crazy! Thank goodness the Superbowl was last night (I never thought I'd say that) and we had an excuse to make a trek out to be with friends. Fun times and lots of food were definitely had!

In photo news, I have started offering Day In The Life sessions this winter and it has been so awesome to see the results and experience hours at a time in clients' homes. Not only do I get to spend quality time with families while capturing their heart for each other, there's another great side effect that I didn't anticipate at first. These sessions give families a chance to have time to bond together doing things they already love while taking a break from the stresses of "real life." I didn't expect to necessarily be thanked for the experience as well as the photos, but that is exactly what has happened!

These sessions seem to provide a mental and emotional space during the day purely for fun, laughter, love and rest, and in the busyness of our daily lives, that is so important to remember and capture. So far it has included lots of baking, in-home gymnastics (seriously), getting dressed up, and snowshoeing, among other things. I love getting to discover the different ways family love shows itself, and passing the time at home out of the cold can be a great way to foster that. And if the kids start to get stir-crazy like I am, then there's always snow to romp in before your fingers turn numb!
